Septidin 10% Povidone Iodine Solution B.P. 10% w/v ( 500ml / 1000ml )

For minor burns, wounds and on pre-operative preparation of the skin.

Povidone Iodine is an iodophore in which Iodine is bound to the carrier molecule, povidone. The complex (Povidone Iodine) slowly liberates inorganic Iodine when in contact with skin and mucous membranes. Only a small amount of Iodine is released at any one time, giving Povidone Iodine a lower irritant potential and longer duration of microbiacidal action than conventional Iodine solutions. It is bactericidal, fungicidal, sporicidal and virucidal.

Direction for use: Use full strength. Do not dilute.

Pre-operative preparation of the skin: Wet the operation site with water. Apply SEPTIDIN 10%, work up a lather using sterile gauze. Scrub site for 5 minutes, rinse off with water using wet sterile gauze. Paint the surgical site with SEPTIDIN 10% using sterile gauze and permit to air dry.

Minor burns, wounds and skin infections: Apply twice daily to affected area  with clean gauze or cotton bud.
