Helping to soften and remove a build-up of hardened ear wax.
Cerumol drops are suitable for adults and children. However, you should get medical advice before using them to treat a child.
How do Cerumol ear drops work?
Cerumol ear drops contain arachis oil (peanut oil) and chlorobutanol. When you put the drops in your ear these ingredients soak into hardened wax and soften it, allowing it to then drain out of the ear.
How to use Cerumol ear drops?
Tilt the head to the side so the affected ear is facing upwards. (For children it may be easier to get them to lie down on one side.) Use the dropper to put five drops of Cerumol into the ear canal. Use some cotton wool or tissue moistened with Cerumol to gently plug the ear and stop the drops running out, then leave the drops in for an hour or overnight to let the drops soak into the ear wax.
After an hour, or in the morning, remove the cotton wool or tissue and tilt the head to the opposite side to allow the drops and softened wax to drain out of the ear.Repeat this twice a day for three days to remove ear wax.
